Used Cars Import Rules and Regulations in the Haiti

Age Restriction

There is no age restriction for a vehicle to be imported in Haiti.

Left/Right-hand Drive Vehicle

All the vehicles imported from Japan must be Left-Hand Drive (LHD)

Inspection Policy

In Haiti, no inspection is required for imported cars.

Import Duties and Taxes

5% tax on vehicles valued under HTG 35,000.

20% tax on vehicles valued over HTG 75,000.

5% tax on trucks under two tons and minibusses with up to 24 passengers.

10% tax on imported used vehicles.

Documentation Required on Vehicle Import

Passport or visa (However, there are a few exceptions: some American citizens can visit Haiti without a visa for a certain time for a specific purpose, but a valid passport is always required).
