Age Restrictions

Japanese used cars that are imported to Guyana should not be more than 8  years old. 

The age restriction for small trucks up to 3 tons is 4 years old.

Right-hand drive

In Guyana, import of right-hand drive vehicles is allowed.

Inspection

No mandatory inspection is required for the import of Japanese used cars to Guyana.

Customs duties and taxes applied to the vehicles are based on various factors inducing their engine size and CNF cost. The higher the CNF cost, the more duties will be paid, and vice versa.

Cars, buses, vans, pickups, and SUVs with an engine displacement of 1500cc or less and less than 4 years old are classified as new by the Guyana Revenue Service and are not subject to excise tax. 

Duty and tax of vehicles with age less than 4 years will be calculated by the percentage of CNF cost, and because of that, you might need to pay fewer duties.
