Age Restriction

There is no age restriction on the import of used Japanese cars in Dr-Congo, and you can import vehicles of any age.

Left-Hand Drive Vehicles

Only Left-hand Drive vehicles (LHD) can be imported in Dr-Congo.

Inspection

Vehicles older than 6 months from first registration to their transportation date are exempted from pre-owned inspection. However, they need to fulfill the importation requirement applied to a used motor vehicle.

Import Duties and Taxes on Used Cars in DR-Congo

Custom duties range from 8 to 46.1 %

VAT ranges from 8 – 13%

Documents Required for Import of Vehicle in DR-Congo

  • Commercial Invoice 

  • Legal conveyance certificate 

  • Original Bill of Lading (OBL) - The OBL must show the engine number, chassis number, cubic capacity, brand, model, and year of manufacturing

  • Vehicle registration document (original or certified copy)

Advance Payments in DR Congo

From the reservation date, our customers have up to three working days to make the full payment. In case the payment is not received, the reservation will be canceled. The shipping procedure of the vehicle begins after receiving 70% or more of the payment. In case of partial deposit (70%), customers must pay the remaining amount within five working days after the ship has left the departure port. In case of failure to make the payment on time, the vehicle could be resold and your deposit confiscated to cover the damage caused. Please make sure to plan your finances accordingly before placing an order as SAT Japan will not be responsible for any complaints.
